County Museum (2 Mile) : The Fairfield
County Museum is housed in an elegantly simple
Federal style house built for Richard Cathcart
in the early 19th century.The main floor of
the museum is maintained as an historic house
with antique furnishings in period rooms. Other
floors exhibit collections related to Fairfield
County history. Museum collections include 19th
century clothing and quilts, Victorian accessories,
toys, Indian and military artifacts, tools,
kitchen and sewing implements, banking and commerce
displays
Lake
Monticello, Lake Wateree State Parks (15-20
Mile) :The smaller Monticello
Recreation Lake is located north of the large
body of water and is about 300 acres in size.
This park area offers fishing two days a week
(Wednesdays and Saturdays), swimming (no lifeguard
on duty) and picnic facilities. Park gates open
from sunrise to sunset. The V.C. Summer Nuclear
Station Nature Trail is located at the boundary
of the V.C. Summer Nuclear Station exclusion
area on the lake. Benches, wood duck boxes,
blue bird boxes and plant identification markers
dot this 1.5 mile trail.
William
Brice Stadium (25 Mile) : Williams
Brice Stadium is the home football stadium for
the South Carolina Gamecocks, the college football
team which represents the University of South
Carolina in Columbia, SC. It is located on the
corner of George Rogers Boulevard and Bluff
Road near the South Carolina State Fairgrounds
and State Farmers Market. South Carolina football
consistently attract standing-room-only crowds
to Williams-Brice Stadium. The atmosphere on
game days has been voted "the best"

Masters
Golf Tournament Augusta, GA (90 Mile) :
Each year in the first week of April, one of
the most prestigious golf tournaments in the
world is held at the Augusta National Golf club
in Augusta, Georgia. It's called the Masters
and it was first held in 1934. One of the original
hosts of the tournament was Bobby Jones who
did actually play in the event several times
but never won. Great champions of the Masters
